Background
At Fairfax County Public Library, adult summer reading programs were run on a branch-by-branch basis. As a Library Information Assistant, I helped run the 2016 program across two branches: Pohick Regional Library and City of Fairfax Regional Library.
My Role
- Designed event calendars for adult summer reading activities using Microsoft Publisher
- Produced promotional and organizational materials, including handouts, logs, and coupons, for the 2016 program at City of Fairfax Regional Library
- Partnered with the Friends of the City of Fairfax Regional Library to secure and coordinate incentives for participants
- Managed and facilitated programming for adult patrons throughout the summer
Outcome
Ran the full 2016 program at City of Fairfax Regional Library from planning through execution, including securing donated incentives through the Friends of the Library group.
